Nayer is a young orphan who resides with her aunt Efat and is pregnant by a penniless and careless man, Morteza. He has evaded military service on multiple occasions. He visits Anzali and, upon discovering of her pregnancy, urges her to terminate the pregnancy. They travel to Tehran for this purpose, but their aunt sends a man after them. There, they meet another couple that influences their decision.
