Houman (Iraj Ghaderi) is a wealthy man who owns a large commercial ship. Everyone around him covets his money and wealth, and he is disappointed with everyone. Meanwhile, a poor man named Hassan (Nosratolah Vahdat) commits suicide due to his poverty. Houman saves Hassan from drowning in the sea. Houman then visits Hassan’s home, sees his impoverished lifestyle, gives Hassan all the money he has with him, and decides that he too will live in poverty for a few days in order to find his true love.
