Seyed Morteza is in love with Zari. However, Zari’s father, Mirza Yahya, who has gone bankrupt in trade, marries off his daughter to Mirza Asadollah to save her from bankruptcy. Zari takes her own life. After a confrontation with Asadollah, Morteza heads to the capital. He seeks refuge with his uncle Rahmat, who is being harassed by the sons of Mirfathollah. Morteza crosses paths with them, and Asid Kazem, at Rahmat’s request, mediates to prevent bloodshed. Morteza meets a girl named Ashrat, who bears a striking resemblance to Zari and whom Kazem has been assisting for years, along with her mother.
