PersianDrama 110 min 1973

After the death of the village master, his foreign wife, with the help of her evil steward, Gholam, demands that Saleh (Behrooz Vosoughi) and Mosayeb (Faramarz Gharibian), the sons of Baba Sobhan (Jafar Vali), who work on her farmland, return the land to her. Saleh and Mosayeb refuse to return the land but agree to pay the rent on the due date. The steward’s (Jalal Pishvaian) grudge against Mosayeb is due to his unrequited love for Mosayeb’s wife, Shokat (Farzaneh Taidi). The conflict between him and his henchmen over the land leads to Mosayeb’s death and Saleh’s injury. Saleh, having lost his mental balance due to a blow to the head with a shovel during the fight with Gholam, kills Gholam in the village square and is then arrested by the gendarmes and sent to the central prison.
