Rabab is engaged to her cousin. Her father, Ali Weiss, is a pearl hunter and suffers from shortness of breath. Kamel’s mother has asked the bride’s family to send her daughter with the groom’s dowry. Ali Weiss tries to prepare the dowry for hunting shells and finding pearls, but his son’s servant also goes hunting with his friend Khadar to help provide the bride’s dowry. Their efforts do not yield any results. The groom’s mother goes to Ali Weiss’ house and modifies her condition. The wedding ceremony is held. The servant gives Rabab a shell on the wedding night. Rabab opens the shell the next morning and finds a pearl in it.
