This article investigates the cinematic and cultural legacy of Farrokh Ghaffari and his contribution to the formation of  New Wave cinema in Iran. Ghaffari was a multifaceted figure in the history of Iranian cinema: a leading filmmaker, film historian, film critic, actor, and the visionary founder of Iran’s National Film Archive (Filmkhaneh-ye Melli-ye Iran). He served as the deputy manager of the National Iranian Radio-Television (NIRT) between 1966 and 1978.
