This article explores Close-Up and especially Sabzian‘s character and his motivation in the light of what French philosophers Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari termed “the power of the false.“ Furthermore, the article highlights the significance of oral storytelling in fostering interpretation and shaping both collective and individual subjectivities.
