At a young woman’s wedding, what should be a joyous celebration takes a somber turn when her sister and other family members tragically lose their lives in a car accident while en route to the wedding. The sisters’ mother grapples with an unbearable reality, refusing to accept her daughter’s death. Amidst a gathering of wedding guests and mourners, which includes the drivers of the truck responsible for the accident, she insists that the wedding proceed.
However, a profound dilemma arises. How can the daughter enter into matrimony amidst a wake and without the family’s cherished traditional mirror, which her sister was transporting to the ceremony?
