Kali, a young woman from the town of Halepcheh, eagerly anticipates her wedding night, hoping for her father’s return. Her father, a Kurdish fighter, has been away for years but is expected to come back to the town to attend her wedding. Tragically, on the same night, while he watches the wedding from a distance, he is killed by members of the Ba’ath Party. Government forces launch an attack on the wedding celebration, taking the groom, Mohammad, into their custody and spiriting him away to an undisclosed location. This sets Kali on a journey to find her husband and to locate her father’s grave.
